Letter to the Editor Assignment

For story: Angela’s Ashes (TLOL pgs. 243-255)

                

Description: Imagine that Seamus wants to tell the “Limerick Leader,” the local newspaper, about recent events at the Fever Hospital.  Write the “letter to the editor” that you think Seamus would have written. 

 

Use correct grammar, spelling and sentence structure.  Letter should be in proper letter format with a date in the upper left hand corner, a greeting, body and signature.  Letter should be double-spaced typed or doubled-spaced printed neatly.

Criteria One: My first argument of why the reader should agree with my thesis.

Criteria Two: My second argument of why the reader should agree with my thesis.

Sentence Four: (and five if needed):
Criteria Three: My third argument of why the reader should agree with my thesis.

Sentence Five:

     Sentence number one is the thesis or prove statement.  It is

     your opinion or what you are trying to prove. Sentence number

     two (and three if needed) is criteria number one or your first

     argument of why the reader should agree with your thesis.

     Sentence number three (and four if needed) is criteria number

     two or your second argument of why the reader should agree

     with your thesis.  Sentence number four (and five if needed) is

     criteria number three or your third argument of why the reader

     should agree with your thesis.  The last sentence, usually

     number five, is simply the restatement of the thesis but in a

     different way.
